In a small office in an ordinary commercial mall in east Newmarket, lives are being changed for the better! Significant progress in learning is being made and, one day, a better job, a better education and a better life will result.
Welcome to Literacy Council York-Simcoe. Open the door and come on in. You will be greeted by friendly staff and be able to hear the encouraging voice of tutors working with students who are eager to learn in our friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
We are an adult learning centre helping English-speaking adults in our region to build their reading, writing, math, computer, and employment skills. We do this through our Employment Supports and Adult Literacy programs.
We are happy to help new adult learners. If you are considering becoming a student we welcome you, and encourage you to visit our Learn Section, or to call us directly to find out how we can assist you.
