Literacy and Essential Skills Upgrading Programs


Students are matched with trained volunteer tutors who assist the students in meeting their literacy essential skills goals through a variety of individualized learning strategies.

Small Group

Students come together in small groups of 6-8 to upgrade their skills for employment, higher education and independence . Groups are facilitated by volunteers and staff and are held at various times of day.

Computer-Based Literacy Essential Skills Upgrading

Students can upgrade their literacy essential skills through an interactive educational program that provides a variety of curriculum-based activities and tests to enhance essential skills.

Essential Skills Development Programs


Students and community members can access up-to-date self-paced computer training tutorials in basic and intermediate computer operation, internet, email and MS Office.

Employability Soft Skills

This integrated computer based soft skills training program assists clients to improve their; Effective Communication, Working with a Team, Self-Management, Organizational Skills and Analytical Skills. Employability soft skills training is provided through a self paced e-learning format.


The Mobile Adult Learning Lab (MALL)

The MALL is a Mobile Adult Learning Lab (MALL), that can be set up at community agencies throughout the region, to provide adults with the opportunity to improve their computer skills and essential skills for employment and higher education.
