Literacy and Essential Skills Upgrading Programs

One-on-one Tutorials
Students are matched with trained volunteer tutors who assist the students in meeting their literacy essential skills goals through a variety of individualized learning strategies.

Small Group Instruction
Students come together in small groups of 6-8 to upgrade their skills for independence, higher education and employment. Groups are facilitated by volunteers and staff and are held at various times of day for convenience.

Computer-based Literacy Essential Skills Upgrading
Students can upgrade their literacy essential skills through an interactive educational program that provides a variety of curriculum-based activities and tests to enhance essential skills.


Employment Readiness Training

Basic Computer Training
Students and Community Members can access up-to-date computer training in basic computer operation, internet, email and MS Office applications for a small fee.

Ready for Work
Students and Community Members can improve essential skills and enhance their employability through this comprehensive, computer-based employment skills training program.

The MAALL – Mobile Adolescent & Adult Learning Lab 

 
The  MAALL is a 10 laptop mobile learning lab  equipped with educational and employment related software training programs. It can be set up easily at  your location for a scheduled date and specific length of time. This program provides individuals 16+ with the opportunity to improve their literacy and essential skills for employment and higher education.

The MAALL offers Literacy and Essential Skills Upgrading, Employment Soft Skills Training and Computer Skills Training.
